We love helping folks with their wheels, and thought it would be helpful to give you some information on how we may be able to meet your needs.

What we do....
We have the capabilities and equipment to repair or reproduce pretty much anything that your wheel may need.

Some very common items and repairs include;
Bobbins
Bearings
Flyer hooks
Footman’s
Whorls
Retainer pins
Loose joints
Warped or separated wheels
Alignment issues
Treadle repairs

We are also equipped to provide complete flyer assemblies and reproduce any missing part – wood or metal.
We can also customize your wheel for you if you want particular modifications made to meet a specific desire.
Really, I can’t think of anything that you may need or want for your wheel that we can’t help you with.  We’d love for you to challenge us!

Normally our pricing includes finishing, to include staining and sealing if needed.
Sometimes wheelwrights avoid or refuse to provide finishing, and that is very understandable. It is very difficult at times to match the color on older wheels and usually it takes mixing several dye’s together and some trial and error.
Although we do our best to match your existing wheel, please understand that it will likely not be perfect. If you would like to provide the finishing yourself we’re happy to provide unfinished items and adjust the price accordingly.

Also, if you find what you believe is a “bargain” wheel for sale and would like some input on what may be needed to get it operational we’re happy to review any photos and give you an idea of what you might be getting into. We know how easy it is to get excited when you find an old wheel that seems reasonably priced and then overlook some potentially major or expensive issues. (Don’t ask how we know 😊)

Our process...
The process we use may vary depending on your specific project, but in general you can expect us to;

Discuss your project with you to clarify exactly what your needs and expectations are.

If you are asking for a complete wheel evaluation and refurbish, we will inspect your wheel and provide a list of items that are required for function and those that may be just cosmetic.
There is no charge for this, and you can pick and choose what you would like us to or what you may want to do yourself.

We will provide a final written quotation prior to starting. Please note this is not an estimate, it is a quote. We hold ourselves accountable for providing you accurate information and will not charge you more if we run into difficulties.

You will be asked to determine what items you would like us to work on. If you choose to take on some the repairs yourself we’re happy to lead you thru the process we would use.

Once we receive your approval, we will schedule your project and can provide an estimated completion date.

If you would like us to keep you informed of the progress and provide photos of the process we’re happy to do that for you!

When you’re project is complete, we will notify you to arrange pick up or shipping.

Meeting your expectations...
It’s important that we meet your expectations, and you find working with us to be a good experience.
If any items or service we provide do not meet your needs for whatever reason you can be assured that we will take steps to correct.
You will be happy when we are finished.

Our goal is to provide you with a wheel that is ready to give you many years of joy, and we always keep this in mind as we are working on your project.
This means if you ask us to provide a complete wheel refurbish, your wheel is under our care and protection as long as you own it.
If you have any issues in the future from “normal” use we will take care of these for you, in fact we love getting a chance to look at wheels again that have spent time in our shop.
